Effective July 1, 2026, Managing Director Christian Raith will assume full ownership responsibility at IMM Photonics. This marks the successful completion of the generational transition at the family-owned company, which was founded in 1992.
A second-generation family-owned business specializing in photonics and optical technologies
IMM Photonics GmbH was founded in 1992 by Helga and Friedrich Raith. Since then, the company has continued to evolve: from a supplier of standardized optical and optoelectronic components to an expert and manufacturer of custom-designed laser and photonics solutions.
At two locations in Germany, the company develops custom solutions for a wide range of markets and high-tech applications—from prototyping to series production.
With Christian Raith’s full takeover, the company remains family-owned while focusing on sustainability and growth.
Christian Raith has been with the company since 2010. After completing his studies in bioengineering, he worked in various departments within the company. In 2014, he took over as head of sales with the goal of further expanding the international markets for laser technology, precision optical systems, and photonics applications. He has been leading the company as sole managing director since 2023.

A Seamless Generational Transition
With the founders stepping back from day-to-day operations, the company’s succession plan was put in place well in advance. The full acquisition of the shares is now the final step in this transition.
