Without light, medicine would be lacking. From diagnostics to patient care, optics bring many benefits, whether it’s for rapid data collection or patient alignment on the operating table. IMM’s lasers and fiber optic modules are used here:

  • Lab Automation: The faster, more precise, and contactless samples are analyzed, the more optics play a role.
  • Blood Analysis: The red lifeblood holds many secrets. Our components assist with cell counting, biomarker detection, and general blood sample analysis.
  • Patient Positioning: The more precisely patients are positioned, the better diagnoses and therapies succeed, such as in radiation therapy. Laser markers are flexible, precise, and contactless.

The goal of our modules is to accurately monitor environmental parameters, detect even the smallest changes, and provide real-time information. Our products are already used in these fields:

  • Gas Analysis: Measuring gases remotely with fast and flexible optical sensors, both in enclosed spaces and outdoors.
  • LiDAR: Generating detailed 3D environmental models with laser-based sensors, from mapping to future autonomous driving.
  • Combat Simulation: Capturing movements and positions of trainees easily and instantly via optics, even over long distances.
  • 3D Scanning: Digitally capturing surfaces to monitor their condition, for example in quality assurance during production.
  • Energy Monitoring: Monitoring power grids via optical systems, an elegant solution, as they operate almost without delay and are unaffected by magnetic fields.
  • Light Barriers: Detecting objects contact-free using lasers to avoid collisions in automated production.

  • Optical Continuity Testing: Detects and identifies disturbances in fiber optic networks early.
