Quantum dot lasers also function at extremely high temperatures (150°C–200°C) and can be used in harsh environments such as in plants and the exploration of natural resources. Their excellent stability at high temperatures and their excellent tolerance of optical feedback makes them ideal light sources for silicon photonics.
